The curators are Jessica O’Brien and Pip Wallis, and the participating artists are Kay Abude, Renee Cosgrave, Eliza Dyball, Anna and Renee Miller-Yeaman, Jessica Pinney and Esther Stewart. The project will culminate in the presentation of six artworks in public spaces in Melbourne during the 2012 Next Wave Festival.

ruineshumaines:

This collection of work titled Mirrored is actually the work of artistic duo Tim Maslen and Jennifer Mehra, aka Maslen & Mehra. The photographers and installation artists take the silhouettes of people and animals and present them as figurative mirrors placed across beautiful, expansive landscapes.

Mirrored is currently on display at Conny Dietzschold Gallery in Australia through April 30, 2012.

Henrique Oliveira, the Brazilian emerging artist known for his spatial wooden pieces whose irregular forms devour large spaces which give you the sense that you are actually inhabiting someone’s body

I believe that the message is never art itself, but instead, the lack of a message is a characteristic that makes some creations interesting to memy works may propose a spatial experience, an aesthetic feeling, a language development and many more nominations to refer to the relation it establishes with the viewer. But, any attempt to find a message would fail.”. - Henrique Oliveira

therhumboogie:

By Olga Ziemska, from experience working with willow branches it can test ones patience to no end, so to make something as structurally perfect as this with the figure is a true work of art. The spiky, chaotic texture of the back of the sculpture perfectly contrasts the front with all of the clean cuts and rigid shaping.
